A Decade after Visiting Pardis Park, Omar Yaghi Wins Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Professor Omar Yaghi, a renowned chemist and Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureate, who visited Pardis Technology Park during the first Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Week in 2015, has now received the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
MSTF Media reports:
According to TASNIM, Professor Omar Yaghi, a pioneering scientist in the field of chemistry, visited Pardis Technology Park during the inaugural Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Week in 2015.
In a handwritten note after touring the Park, he described it as an inspiring center of scientific and industrial development in the region. He wrote,
It is a real pleasure to visit Pardis Park and learn of the vision of this technology park. More importantly, the vision is beginning to be realized. This is due to the talented researchers and the companies they are building. This is an exceptional place with exceptional people in a country of long-standing traditions.
Now, a decade later, Prof. Yaghi has once again made history by receiving the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Globally known as the “father of reticular chemistry” and the inventor of metal-organic and covalent-organic frameworks (MOFs and COFs), Prof. Yaghi’s contributions to science have had wide applications in purifying air and water, restoring energy, capturing carbon dioxide, and developing clean technologies.
In 2015, Prof. Yaghi received the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize for the development of metal-organic frameworks.
