Tehran’s Vahdat Hall buzzed with anticipation on Monday, September 8, as officials, scientists and academics from across the Islamic world gathered to celebrate the 2025 Mustafa(pbuh) Prize laureates: India’s Perovskite solar‐cell pioneer Mohammad K. Nazeeruddin, Turkey’s microfluidics innovator Mehmet Toner and Iran’s graph‐algorithm expert Vahab Mirrokni for their scientific breakthroughs.

The head of the scientific committee of the Mustafa (pbuh) Prize stated that the secretariat received 1002 applications for participation in the inaugural Young Scientist Medal. After several stages of screening and evaluation, three young scientists under the age of 40 were selected.
The Chair of the Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Scientific Committee introduced the laureates of the 6th edition of the prize, stating that Mehmet Toner from Turkey was selected in the field of Life and Medical Science and Technology, Vahab Mirrokni from Iran in the field of Communications and Information Technology, and Mohammad Nazeeruddin from India in the field of Basic and Engineering Sciences.
Mahdi Safarininia, President of the Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation, outlined the programs of the 6th Mustafa(pbuh) Prize Week in a press conference on Tuesday. He announced that the events will take place from September 6 to 10, with the award ceremony on September 8.
